Painting Your Ugly Resale Flat - Part 2

Okay, I admit. I was lazy and hesitant to write a part 2 post for this topic.

It's dry and boring.

Yeah, painting is dry and boring. I have to let you know first before you embark into a series of disastrous events: getting your hands splashed with paint, having to inhale the yucky fumes of paint, getting your hair all messed up and with paint on it, sweating like a pig and etc..

Ready?

Ok, we were talking about the equipment in the last post, i want to add on more:

The tray: It's a very useful tool for you to even out the paint on your roller so that it doesn't get so wet. Ideally 2 of them. One for the base coat, one for the color.

Steps on painting:

- So before you even start to paint, you need to use the masking tape and seal up all the corners, the doors, the floors, places where you don't want the paint to stay with, and lay down lots of newspapers. Don't think that you are an expert and it wouldn't drip..most likely, yes.

- Alright, so by using a screwdriver, open the lid of the paint, and pour the paint into the tray.

- Next, dip your rollers and brushes into the tray filled with paint evenly.

- Now if you have more helpers, you can get some to do the corners first, paint the corners with a soft brush, preferably in one direction.

- Then you can start to paint the walls using the roller with the up-down direction.

- If you notice that you have not cover certain areas, go cover it back after that.

- For painting of base coat using martex, it's best to apply 2 to 3 coats. It takes around 30 to 60 mins for one coat to dry before applying next (see, i told you, it's time-consuming)

- For painting of your metal gates and your door frame, use enamel paint meant for painting metal and wood. Note that it takes a longer time to dry, so leave your gate slightly open, lock your wooden door or make sure someone is at home.

I hope the information that I have given is adequate. It took me one week to learn all this! Given that I had no time and the darn wall was so dark to being with. so good luck!
